Murtha-Irey race results...

See the election results of PA-12 From CNN

The people of PA-12, have spoken. Diana Irey, however, has made a good showing for running against a high-profile, campaign war-chest rich incumbent who for 32 years was largely unopposed until now. Especially impressive was Irey's showing in Armstrong County, where she was behind only two percentage points. Our hats off to Irey for running a race based on issues, not on pork promises.

The people of PA-12 have spoken; but our quest to continue to expose Murtha for who he is will go on undaunted.

This parent of a deployed Iraqi Freedom soldier will not rest until Jack Murtha is taken to task for his many misdeeds; not the least of which was to unjustly throw fellow Marines under the bus for political gain. It is my fear, yet my certainty, that victory will only embolden Jack Murtha to be even more reckless in his verbiage and his actions toward our military, and toward the war on terror in general.

And this blog will continue to be there to chronicle every Murtha mis-step.

You can count on it.

We're Not Gonna Take It Murtha...

A good youtube video giving us the military perspective on Jihad Jack and his out of the mainstream, even borderline treasonous comments and stances he has taken against the military particularly of late in the name of looking out for them. Give it a look for sure, as time's running out on Jack it now looks to more and more of us.

Hat tip to "Bones" for the video heads up

Good Luck & I'm Praying For You

That's the title to an email I sent Diana Irey this morning. Here's what I said in the email:
Diana, I can only imagine what's all going through your mind today. I hope that you'll get a call from Mr. Murtha conceding sometime relatively early tonight. Know that I'm praying for you, your family & your campaign staff.

Also, feel free to email me or call me if you detect, God forbid, any Democratic electoral shenanigans. I'll put the word out ASAP. I also want to make you aware of Redstate.org's running of such a headline ticker, too.

Take care & God bless your day.

Gary Gross
Blogging for Diana because MURTHA MUST GO
Diana graciously replied to that first email around noon CT. Here's what she said:
Gary,

Thank you so very much for all you have done. I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of kindness and support throughout this entire campaign.

Thank you for blessing me.
Diana
I had to send her one last email:
Diana, I've been proud to stand with you in fighting for our Constitution while fighting against a corrupt politician who's advocating a delusional anti-terrorist policy. If people can't stand with a woman of your integrity & beliefs, then we're sunk as a nation.

Fortunately, I've been able to be an advocate for you & Michele Bachmann. Michele will be my representative in the 110th Congress. I've described her as your "ideological twin sister" because you're both fireballs who won't back down from a good ideological fight. I attribute that to you & Michele both thinking the big issues of the day through before speaking on them.

I look forward to watching the results pour in & I especially look forward to hearing you declared the winner.

Gary
It would absolutely make my day, and the days of all here at MMG, if the voters decided to turn Diana Irey and Michele Bachmann loose on the poor unsuspecting liberal idiots in the House. Diana and Michele vs. Pelosi, Rangel, Conyers, Waxman and a couple of liberals to be named later doesn't sound like a fair fight to me. (It's obviously not enough liberal brainpower but you go to war against the liberal idiots available, right?)

Diana Shows How To Get Rid Of Murtha

It's just that plain simple.

Just Remember, You Get What You Ask For

And in the case of Jack Murtha, we already know what we're getting, another congressional term that behind the scenes contains the type of "under the table activities" that have been going on for years in smokey back rooms, hotel suites and who knows where else with whomever. Doubt that assertion do you? Then click the picture below on the left or here to refresh your memory before you cast that democratic vote for Jack and not Diana Irey tomorrow.

Should you choose to ignore the obvious and vote Jack, Nancy, and the rest of the cut & run democratic cohorts to lead the congress and the senate for the next two years, you may rest assured the homeland security scale above on the right will be a familiar site to we Americans, as the appeasement party fulfills all our enemies wishes and withdraws our badly needed troops from Iraq.

A move which will make the dreadful aftermath of our Vietnamese war withdrawal look like a Jean Fraud Kerry tea & crumpets luncheon with Teresa and ruin US credibility for the next 25 years. Thus handing the strategic middle east over to terrorist Islamofascist rule aiding in their quest to conquer the rest of Asia, Europe and then USA on a silver platter with Jack's John Hancock right in the middle of it.

It's time to put the old soldier John out to pasture and start anew with Diana Irey Pennsylvanians, so please hear our cries and vote this man back to the farm tomorrow. Only you have the power to do this for America, our troops and yourselves, so do the right thing,

As Murtha Must Go.

Seditionist Jack Murtha Opens his big piehole...again.

From an op-ed at Yahoo News:
In a post yesterday about the Military Times editorial calling for Rumsfeld's resignation I wrote:
Obviously, what's angering the troops is that a publication purporting to speak on their behalf is actually a subsidiary of Gannett Newspapers (which makes it a sister pub to USA Today, among others) that is in no way affiliated with the professional military and, according to the numerous responses I've gotten, doesn't seem to in any way represent the majority views of U.S. troops. Furthermore, given both of these things, the timing of the editorial just days before the election is viewed by many as clearly inappropriate.

Since the paper isn't associated with the U.S. military and the editorial page seems to in no way represent the views of U.S. troops, I guess it only makes sense that Pennsylvania Democrat Jack Murtha would not only use the editorial as a political tool but also tout it as more important than the news that Saddam is going to hang:

Representative John P. Murtha (news, bio, voting record), the Pennsylvania Democrat who has become the face of his party's opposition to the war in Iraq, said the verdict was the right one but predicted it would not make a difference in this campaign. What would matter more, Mr. Murtha said, were editorials in military papers being published Monday calling for the resignation of Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld., said the verdict was the right one but predicted it would not make a difference in this campaign. What would matter more, Mr. Murtha said, were editorials in military papers being published Monday calling for the resignation of Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld.

"When The Army Times, The Navy Times, The Marine Corps Times, they have all said that we're not supporting the troops, that they're losing confidence with the administration, that's what's important," Mr. Murtha said, campaigning in Croydon, Pa., outside Philadelphia, for Patrick Murphy, a Democrat seeking to unseat Representative Michael G. Fitzpatrick.

Since Jack Murtha often claims to have the pulse of the United States military, one has to assume that he knows the Military Times isn't part of the military and that the editorial doesn't represent the views of the troops. Thus it's hard to escape the fact Murtha is willfully misreprenting the nature and importance of the editorial to play politics before the election.

Just more evidence that all of Murtha's half-cocked, half-baked assertions cannot be coming from his brain, but rather from his "big fat backside. "

While one may (and with great credibility, might I add) posit that whatever may be left of Murtha's brain actually resides in his "great big fat backside," one fact still remains: Congressman Jack Murtha has time and time again proven himself to be incompetent for the office he now holds. His "shoot from the hip and ask questions later" rhetoric not only renders him incompetent; Jack Murtha, via his mindless rhetoric, renders himself downright dangerous to our men and women in uniform.

Murtha Must Go!

Sedition to the very end...

Leave it to Jack Murtha to never miss an opportunity to pick out a turd from a hill of daisies.
(MONONGAHELA, November 6) -- Washington County Commissioner and Pennsylvania 12th district Republican Congressional nominee Diana Irey -- responding to comments made by Jack Murtha as reported by the New York Times -- today issued the following statement:

"Right up to the very end, Jack Murtha is playing politics with national security. Yesterday, in the wake of an Iraqi court's decision to sentence Saddam Hussein to death by hanging for mass murder, Jack Murtha was quoted as follows by the New York Times:

Representative John P. Murtha, the Pennsylvania Democrat who has become the face of his party's opposition to the war in Iraq, said the verdict was the right one but predicted it would not make a difference in this campaign. What would matter more, Mr. Murtha said, were editorials in military papers being published Monday calling for the resignation of Defense Donald H.

"Again, Jack Murtha is trying to get us to believe something that just isn't so -- in this case, that editorials in The Army Times, The Navy Times, and The Marine Corps Times reflect either public opinion or, more importantly, the opinions of our active duty, reserve, or retired military.

"For the record, these publications are owned by a subsidiary of Gannett Newspapers (which, not coincidentally, makes them sister publications to USA Today), and are in no way affiliated with the professional military. They are headquartered in Springfield, Virginia, just outside the Washington Beltway.

"Surely, Jack Murtha, with his vaunted and loudly-touted connections to the Pentagon, knows this. Yet he touts these editorials as 'proof' that our armed forces are losing confidence in the Administration. What utter balderdash!

"And on a side note, what does it say about the lack of respect Jack Murtha shows his own constituents when he spends the last Sunday before the election campaigning not in his own district, but on the other side of the state, for yet another liberal Democrat who doesn't reflect the culturally conservative views of his own constituents?

"Right up to the very end, Jack Murtha is playing politics with national security. Voters in the 12th district will have the opportunity tomorrow to let him know just what they think of that."
Note the key words: Right up to the very end.

Another reason why it's not safe to vote for Jack Murtha

Jack Murtha will know the true meaning of re-deployment, when he is "re-deployed" permanently from Washington tomorrow.

John Murtha: Face of the Anti-War Left to the End

Let me start this post by saying that Diana Irey and her staff deserve a huge round of applause for how they've kept the spotlight on John Murtha, specifically in making him the irrational left's face of defeatism. All Republicans owe the Irey campaign a debt of gratitude for their efforts in that 'theater' of the GWOT. Let's take a look at the latest official Irey statement on Murtha's disgusting rhetoric:

John Murtha is again relying on the fossilized media to 'prove' him right. It's a predictable tactic considering Murtha's reliance on an obsolete paradigm. The Fossilized Media is what Democrats rely on. It's something they've done for almost thirty years.

When you read publication titles like "The Army Times, The Navy Times and The Marine Corps Times", it gets people's attention. Unfortunately, the hoped-for positive attention is short-lived because the Irey campaign shoots it down as another outlet for Gannett. It sounds so official but it's quickly discredited because it's all headlines and no substance. Like so much of liberalism, voters are left crying out "Where's the beef"? So the liberal editorial board of the The Army Times, The Navy Times and The Marine Corps Times is calling for Runsfeld's resignation the day before the election. What of it?

Do these political idiots think that people get their marching orders from another liberal newspaper? Such is the folly of the left.

Saddam's verdict tells the American people that (a) invading Iraq rid the world of a violent thug; (b) showed the world that the Iraqis have a legitimate judicial system and (c) that that verdict represents progress that John Murtha denies is happening.
Mr. Murtha, since when is it important that a liberal publication says that it's losing confidence in the Bush administration's handling of the military? That's as newsworthy as another article telling us that you're anti-war. Forgive me if I don't think that Gannett's Election Eve editorial is as important as Saddam's verdict.

Something else that's worth noticing here is that all three publications are running the same editorial in the same edition that's sent out the day before the election. Isn't that coincidental? I think it's anything but coincidental. It reeks of foul play. It reeks of someone with an agenda attempting to cause trouble via a headline because he can't win his arguments on their merits.

Johnstown Tribune-Democrat endorses Murtha

But even Murtha's hometown newspaper has to hold their nose to do it:
We are frightened by Murtha’s willingness to align himself with California Democrat Nancy Pelosi. Clearly, Murtha is hoping that relationship paves the way for his ascension to a position of higher power in the House. But we don’t believe our region’s values match well with Pelosi’s, and we don’t see much good coming for the 12th district – even if the relationship benefits the congressman.
Simply put, the Tribune Democrat named Murtha's opposition to the war as the main reason for supporting him. Secondly, they cite Murtha's opposition to the Patriot Act as a reason for supporting him. Curious, as the Patriot Act has thus far been the main reason we have foiled numerous terrorist plots against our nation, that has kept us free from such attack since 2001.

All in all, the Tribune's was far from a ringing endorsement.

As far as Diana Irey,
We are somewhat impressed with Irey, who presents herself as a thoughtful and articulate candidate.

She has some ideas that we’re interested in, including reducing federal spending.

We have opposed closing the borders to immigration, something she supports.
What is it that the Johnstown Democrat doesn't understand about Diana Irey's opposition to ILLEGAL immigration? Is that a word that just keeps on escaping the lexicon of the Tribune editorial board and other fellow travellers?

In the end, we endorse Murtha for another go-round in Washington.

But we urge him to remain faithful to his fiscally and socially conservative western Pennsylvania roots – even if it costs him in personal gain and national influence.
Here's an idea. Why keep a dinosaur in office who will no doubt continue to be hellbent on remaining on the same path that the Tribune decries?

Now is the time for a fresh face to represent the ideals and interests of PA-12.

God knows that Murtha doesn't.

The face of the democrat party...

The thing about it is, this guy, in reality, represents the mainstream of today's democrat party. He was their Presidential candidate in 2004, and hopes to be again in 2008.

Is this the party you want representing you in Washington?

A vote for Irey will go a long way toward preventing that from happening.

On counting chickens...

ABC is salivating at the thought of a dem majority on November 8th:
The battle for the post of majority leader in a Democratically controlled House would most likely be between Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.). Sources believe that Hoyer can contain the Murtha insurgency, though it is marked as a battle to watch.
A couple of problems with that:

1. The democrats won't take the House.

2. Murtha won't be there.

Symbolic?

Via Chris Lilik's Grassroots PA site, we find this item from the Philadelphia Daily News:

Lawn signs: Deer Jack

So you think Philly politics are tough?

A campaign worker in incumbent Democrat Jack Murtha's district around Johnstown came across this scene: a dead deer pulled to the berm of U.S. 21 just outside Waynesburg with a sign stuck in it: "Dump Murtha."

A spokesman for Murtha's Republican opponent, Diana Irey, confirmed they do use "Boot Murtha" and "Dump Murtha" signs, but said the planting of a lawn sign in a deer carcass is not campaign policy.

A more appropriate animal to represent Murtha would be a bear who woke up on the wrong side of the cave after hibernating for 14 terms in Congress. Good luck finding one of those around here. Roadkill deer, on the other hand, are plentiful. I'm surprised that we aren't able to purchase fresh venison in our local grocery stores.

Planting signs in dead animals may not be campaign policy, but one can well imagine the howls of laughter inside Irey campaign headquarters once the media had alerted the spokesman about this eccentrically amusing method of political advertising.

Four days until Murtha's political career is roadkill.

Johnstown Paper Gives Irey Campaign Some Attention

Diana Irey and her campaign aren't as invisible and hopeless as Jack and his supporters would like the constituency to believe. For all intents and purposes Jack Murtha has practically ignored the race altogether, campaigning in other states for other candidates as if the election were in the bag.

Today the Johnston PA local paper gives Irey some ink on the front page as her campaign hits the homestretch in what many hope will be the going away party for Jihad Jack and the likes of him elsewhere throughout the country, places where democrats have already as George Bush stated, started measuring the curtains for their new offices.

The Tribune Democrat, Johnstown, PA - Irey gets boost from Internet fundraising: "Republican Diana Irey’s congressional campaigning is picking up speed, attempting to overtake a veteran incumbent and overcome a huge voter-registration disadvantage.

The Washington County commissioner, taking on Democratic U.S. Rep. John Murtha, this week began running her first TV and radio ads.

And her campaign claims to have raised $100,000 since Oct. 1, in part due to Internet-based fundraising and exposure from conservative blogs.

“It’s just a ‘viral’ marketing effect,” said Bill Pascoe, an Irey campaign consultant.

During a stop in downtown Johnstown on Thursday, Irey again criticized Murtha for saying Marines intentionally killed innocent civilians in an incident last year in Haditha, Iraq.

Murtha has not retracted his statements, and his campaign spokesman, Ed Mitchell, said he would not comment on the matter. read more
Of course he hasn't retracted those statements, why should he? He believes them and believes he is right. We all know he's wrong as wrong can be, and we can only hope and pray that those voters concur with us here and in 5 days send Jihad Jack back home as Murtha Must Go once and for all and now's the time. It's your choice Pennsylvanians.

Jihad Jack Weighs In On Messiuer Jean Fraud Kèrry

As one might expect, John Murtha just had to chime in on the Jean Fraud Kerry fiasco, and in doing so gently pushed his buddy under the humvee per say yesterday morning during an MSNBC interview posted below, while feebly attempting to seperate himself from the "I hate the troops more than you" do fray.

Unfortunately this tactic only works when he and the other loons are singing to their choir, because the only phrase Jihad Jack knows when it comes to Iraq is bring 'em all back or redeploy, which is demspeak code for cut and run, and we on the right have long ago broken that code, as have the chop licking terrorists kneeling & praying towards Mecca for a demo' victory next week.

All this spells bad news for Jack and the dims, this latest in the long series of unforgivable gaffes by he & Kerry could be just what the election doctor ordered to nudge all those undecided Pennsylvanian's towards the Diana Irey "we support the troops and the war" camp next Tuesday, thereby redeploying Jack to that "old congressman's home" where he can tell all the war retreat and abscam tales he wants to more captive audience.
