Under attack, Murtha takes shot at seat of powerBig, fat backside? My, Mr. Murtha... me thinks that ye calls the kettle black! Have you taken a rearward glance in a mirror lately? [SNIP]

A leading critic of the Iraq war says presidential adviser Karl Rove has lost touch with the harsh realities facing U.S. troops while he sits on his "fat backside" in air-conditioned Washington.
U.S. Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., made the comment over the weekend when asked about Rove's recent claim in New Hampshire that Democrats want to "cut and run" from Iraq.
"He's making a political speech. He's sitting in his air-conditioned office with his big, fat backside, saying, 'Stay the course.' That's not a plan," Murtha said Sunday on NBC's "
Rove had a student deferment from the draft during the Vietnam War and did not serve in the military. It's so interesting to me how the MSM seems to hold up the likes of Murtha and Jean Francios Kerrie like they were the only veterans that ever served in the Legistlature, and the only ones qualified to speak on the subject of war.
Murtha, a career Marine and, like Kerry, a decorated combat veteran of Vietnam, said again Sunday that U.S. troops should be pulled back from the front lines before returning home.
Murtha again yells the clarion call for surrender in Iraq:
"These troops, they're carrying 70 pounds on their back inside these armored vessels and hit with IEDs (improvised explosive devices) every day, seeing their friends blown up, their buddies blown up, and he says, 'Stay the course.' Yeah, it's easy to say that from Washington," Murtha said. And that, along with the cut-and-run fiasco in Somalia (which Murtha also takes credit for), are what led Osama bin Laden to say this:
When 241 Marines and sailors died in a barracks bombing in Lebanon in 1983, President Reagan, in a move Murtha said he encouraged, soon got out.
"We didn't cut and run. President Reagan made the decision to change direction because he knew he couldn't win it," he said.
After a few blows, it forgot all about those titles and rushed out of Somalia in shame and disgrace, dragging the bodies of its soldiers. America stopped calling itself world leader and master of the new world order, and its politicians realized that those titles were too big for them and that they were unworthy of them. I was in Sudan when this happened. I was very happy to learn of that great defeat that America suffered, so was every Muslim."Funny how Murtha never seems to address those words, isn't it? Actually, it's not funny. It's pretty sad.
On a side note, I hit the search function for "recent news" regarding any stories that reported on Diana Irey and got this.
It is very clear that the heavy hitters in the MSM in Pennsylvania will continue to ignore Irey. However, with regard to maintaining their credibility, they do so at their own peril.
Regardless, the blogosphere, including Murtha Must Go!, will continue to do the work that the MSM refuses to do.
